Cairo Airport
Cairo International Airport is Egypt’s primary and busiest aviation hub, located northeast of the city center. It opened in 1963 to replace the older Almaza Airport, with its iconic Terminal 1 (designed to resemble a Pharaonic lotus temple) built to handle the influx of visitors for the 1964 Cairo International Exposition. Today, it serves as a major gateway connecting Africa, the Middle East, and the world.
