Officers have again successfully evacuated two body bags of landslide victims in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, on Monday.
As of Monday, the joint SAR team has successfully evacuated 78 body bags, with 61 of them having been identified.
Based on information obtained, the two body bags were evacuated on Monday around 10:00 AM local time.
The Safety Officer explained that the joint SAR team is currently searching for victims still buried in priority sectors.
“For the tenth day of this SAR operation, we are focusing the search in sectors A1 and B1 and expanding to sector C,” he said on Monday.
He added that so far, the weather at the site of the search for buried landslide victims has been supportive of the officers’ efforts to evacuate those still missing.
“Thankfully, today the weather is also quite clear, hopefully we can optimize the search for victims,” he said.
He emphasized that while conducting the victim search efforts, the Joint SAR Team continues to prioritize caution. The reason is that the landslide conditions are still unstable and there is potential for rain.
“We require officers to wear hazmat suits, masks, and long gloves. Not to forget, before they are deployed they must receive a tetanus vaccine injection,” he stated.
It is noted that the SAR Team will use a sweeping method starting from the lower part of A1 towards the upper part of B1. Then it will continue from the lower part of A1 towards sector C.
In this search process, the SAR team deployed around 3,675 joint personnel, 17 excavator units, and 22 tracker dogs or K9s.

Persib Bandung’s new left-back, Layvin Kurzawa, admitted he immediately felt comfortable since first joining the Maung Bandung squad.
The former player stated that the team atmosphere, supporter support, and welcome at the stadium made him feel like he was at home.
“I feel very, very happy. I feel like I’m at home now. Thank you to everyone, because I can feel at home, because of all of you,” said Layvin Kurzawa after training.
Layvin Kurzawa also could not hide his emotion when he was officially introduced at the stadium. He called that moment an extraordinary experience, not only for him, but also for his family.
“It was truly extraordinary. My family also watched it on television. My wife cried because it was so extraordinary. There were so many fans, so many people calling my name, Kurzawa. It’s very enjoyable,” he said.
According to Kurzawa, the stadium atmosphere and the passion of the Bobotoh fans have been one of the most memorable things since his arrival at Persib Bandung.
Layvin Kurzawa revealed that the decision to accept Persib Bandung’s offer was not a difficult one after he saw the club’s environment firsthand.
“I saw the fans, I saw the stadium, and I saw the city. That’s the reason why I joined. Before, I didn’t really know, only now I know, and I feel very happy to be here,” said Layvin Kurzawa.
The presence of Layvin Kurzawa is expected to strengthen the left side of Persib Bandung’s defense, while also bringing European-level experience to the Maung Bandung coach’s squad in facing this season’s competition.
