PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, continues to expand its role in strengthening the national economic foundation through empowering community-based productive businesses. In addition to providing access to financial services, BRI also consistently encourages MSMEs to grow collectively within a competitive and sustainable business ecosystem.
This commitment is realized through the development of Business Clusters in the “Klasterku Hidupku” program, an initiative to empower business groups formed by BRI based on similarities in production sector, regional characteristics, and social proximity among business actors, thereby creating synergy and strengthening the value chain at the local level.
By the end of 2025, BRI had fostered 42,682 Business Clusters, accompanied by 3,001 empowerment activities covering business training and support for production facilities and infrastructure. The main focus of the guidance is directed at sectors with high leverage for the regional economy.
Of the total clusters empowered, 82.36% are production sector clusters, while the remaining 17.64% are from non-production sectors. The dominance of the production sector reflects BRI’s strategy in strengthening the real economic base, especially in the agricultural sector, which contributes the largest share at 48.05%.
It was emphasized that the “Klasterku Hidupku” program is designed as an empowerment approach that encourages MSMEs to upgrade, especially for business actors in the production sector, which has been the backbone of the regional economy. Through cluster strengthening, BRI not only connects business actors with access to capital but also builds a business ecosystem that enables collaboration, increased production scale, and strengthened competitiveness at the local level.
“We are committed to comprehensively assisting MSMEs, from financing to strengthening business capacity. This assistance is provided through training, improving financial literacy, and various empowerment programs tailored to the characteristics and needs of each cluster. With this approach, it is hoped that successfully developed business clusters can become a reference and role model for MSMEs in other regions,” the statement said.
In line with strengthening business clusters, BRI also continues to expand financial inclusion at the community level. Of the more than 480 thousand cluster members, as many as 87.7% of group business actors already have accounts at BRI and are on average connected with BRI financing access to support the development of their businesses.
For reference, “Klasterku Hidupku” is part of BRI’s strategy to upgrade existing customers and encourage sustainable business growth. This program complements various other BRI empowerment initiatives, such as Desa BRILiaN, Rumah BUMN, and LinkUMKM, which collectively strengthen BRI’s role as an agent of development in supporting national MSMEs and the grassroots economy.
