Krasnodar, January 13. An expanded meeting was held with the participation of deputy heads of Kuban, heads of all ministries and departments, and heads of municipalities. At the meeting, the governor instructed the creation of a regional operational headquarters to eliminate the consequences of the snowfall.
The head of the region noted that there has not been such snow for several years, and it is necessary to respond promptly to any weather whims.
— I see that not everyone is coping with this task. The situation is especially difficult in Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, Apsheronsky and Belorechensky districts. Therefore, we are creating a regional operational headquarters to eliminate the consequences of the snowfall. It will be headed by my deputy. The headquarters will coordinate the work of all involved services to clear roads and sidewalks of snow in the shortest possible time, – emphasized the governor.
The heads of cities and districts where the most difficult situation has developed due to snowfall reported on the current situation.
The head of Krasnodar reported that 28 centimeters of snow have already fallen in the city, with another 10 centimeters expected by the end of the day. Over the past 24 hours, more than 450 kilometers of roads have been treated for ice, using 410 tons of sand-salt mixture, with about 30 units of special equipment involved. About 600 utility workers are on the job.
The mayor of Novorossiysk reported that the “high alert” regime has been extended in the municipality. 85 units of special equipment are clearing snow around the clock. They have used 250 tons of sand-salt mixture, cleared all central roads, treated 89 out of 121 km of sidewalks, and 225 out of more than 250 bus stop complexes.
According to the head of the Apsheronsky district, about 80 cm of snow fell overnight and it continues to fall. About 200 people are involved in clearing, with 50 units of equipment deployed.
The head of the Belorechensky district reported to the governor that all life support systems are currently operating normally, and work continues to clear snow from public areas.
In total, throughout the day of January 13, more than 350 units of special equipment are clearing regional roads, mountain passes, and bridges. Over 7.1 thousand tons of anti-icing materials were used to treat bridges and overpasses over the past day.
