ATRAM Trust Corporation (ATC) announced the completion of its merger with UnionBank Investment Management and Trust Corporation (UBIMTC), marking the first merger of its kind in the Philippines.

Under the merger, ATC— as the surviving entity —assumed all fiduciary and investment management responsibilities previously carried by UBIMTC, as approved by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

“This merger brings together two institutions with complementary strengths and a shared commitment to fiduciary excellence,” the ATC President said in a statement.

“With the transaction now completed, ATC is well-positioned to deliver a broader range of investment, wealth, and trust solutions while maintaining the highest standards of governance, risk management, and client service,” the statement added.

The ATRAM Group operates mutual funds through ATR Asset Management Inc., and unit investment trust funds, trust, and investment management services through ATRAM Trust Corp.

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is the central bank of the Philippines, established on July 3, 1993, under the New Central Bank Act. It succeeded the older Central Bank of the Philippines, which was founded in 1949, to provide a more independent and stable monetary authority. Today, the BSP is responsible for maintaining price stability, promoting a sound financial system, and issuing the nation’s currency.

Securities and Exchange Commission

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is a U.S. federal government agency, established in 1934 in response to the stock market crash of 1929 and the Great Depression. Its primary mission is to protect investors, maintain fair and orderly markets, and facilitate capital formation by enforcing securities laws and regulating the securities industry.
