
On January 4th, the first working day of the new year, Qingpu District in Shanghai was bustling with activity. Inside the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the Qingpu District Integrated Development Conference for Agriculture, Culture, Tourism, Commerce, Sports, and Exhibitions was held. Aligning with the city’s guidance for the coordinated development of culture, tourism, commerce, sports, and exhibitions, efforts will be made to strengthen Qingpu’s brands as «China’s First Stop for Ancient Town Inbound Tourism,» «The Preferred Destination for Urban Residents’ Micro-Vacations,» and «A Benchmark Zone for Six-Industry Integration,» highlighting its «Most Jiangnan» cultural heritage and advantages as a «Hub Gateway.»
The conference summarized the achievements of Qingpu’s «Six Industries» integration in 2025 and outlined tasks for the next phase. It was pointed out that it is necessary to deepen understanding and earnestly shoulder the responsibility of promoting the integrated development of the «Six Industries.» This serves as a powerful tool to further boost consumption, an important path to enhance the city’s attractiveness, and a key measure to create a high-quality life. The focus should be on key areas to foster a thriving industrial ecosystem where the «Six Industries» complement each other beautifully. Efforts should be made to maximize visitor flow and showcase urban vitality; to balance both software and hardware development to shape unique charm; and to emphasize value conversion to stimulate consumption potential. From January to November 2025, Qingpu District received 45.5112 million tourist visits, a year-on-year increase of 19.96%; total retail sales of consumer goods exceeded 60.881 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%. Throughout the year, over 260 cultural and tourism activities at various levels and more than 160 consumption promotion events were launched, directly driving consumption exceeding 300 million yuan. Investment attraction also yielded fruitful results, with 8 high-quality agricultural projects and 5 cultural tourism projects attracted during the period. Additionally, 47 new film and television enterprises and 96 upstream and downstream enterprises in the gaming and esports industry were established. The «Technology Empowers Agriculture, New Qingpu Paints the Future» agricultural investment promotion conference saw the signing of 26 key projects, with intended investment totaling 2.033 billion yuan.
The continuous upgrading of brand activities and consumption scenarios has become a vivid footnote to integrated development. In 2025, Qingpu successfully hosted benchmark events such as the «Most Jiangnan» Cultural Tourism Festival, the inaugural Waterfront Music Festival, and the World Rowing Championships, igniting consumption trends of «traveling for performances» and «traveling for sports.» The effort to establish Zhujiajiao Ancient Town as a 5A-level tourist attraction progressed steadily. Panlong Xintiandi was recognized as the first national-level tourism and leisure block in the suburbs. Liantang Town’s Dongsheshe Village became the city’s first immersive homestay village. Integrated application scenarios continued to enrich, with core attractiveness and market influence steadily rising.
