Krasnodar — Eight construction classes were opened in Krasnodar in 2025, where schoolchildren study the basics of the profession, according to the city’s press service.

The first such class was opened in School No. 103 in 2024. There are now nine of them in various general education institutions in the city. Classes are held for eighth and tenth graders as part of extracurricular activities.

The training program includes theoretical classes and practice at real construction sites.

— We introduce schoolchildren to how the industry works, what is important to know, and how to develop in the profession. General education institutions have bilateral agreements with the city’s construction companies, which allows us to carry out comprehensive career guidance work aimed at training future personnel for the industry, — it was noted.

Construction classes operate in schools No. 4, 16, 19, 62, 93, 110, 102f, 103 and 107. Classes are held once or twice a month and are conducted by representatives of the industry department, university teachers, and specialists from construction companies. Students study topics such as integrated territorial development and the formation of master plans. The program also includes additional classes in mathematics, physics, and drafting.

In addition, excursions to construction sites of social facilities and residential complexes, visits to exhibitions and design institutes, as well as tours of the historical center of Krasnodar to study urban development are provided.

Last year, the first transport and road class was opened in the regional center at School No. 98, where tenth graders study the basics of road design and modeling.

Krasnodar

Krasnodar is a major city in southern Russia, founded in 1793 as a fortress named Yekaterinodar (meaning “Catherine’s Gift”) in honor of Empress Catherine the Great. It served as the historical and cultural center of the Kuban Cossacks before being renamed Krasnodar (“Red Gift”) in 1920 following the Russian Revolution. Today, it is a vibrant administrative and economic hub for the fertile Kuban region.
