The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance – represented by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness during Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation – is organizing dawah programs to educate Umrah performers during this year’s 1447 AH Umrah season.

This includes a series of daily scientific lessons, exhortatory speeches, and faith-based lectures held in mosques located near the Grand Mosque and the central area.

Umrah Performer Awareness Programs

These programs are presented by a select group of the Ministry’s official preachers, alongside translators in several international languages to serve the various nationalities of Umrah performers.

The dawah programs encompass a number of key themes, most notably: clarifying the rituals of Umrah step-by-step, explaining matters of creed and monotheism, and promoting concepts of moderation and balance.

This is in addition to addressing Islamic legal transactions, venerating Makkah Al-Mukarramah, highlighting the virtues of Islam, reviewing the Kingdom’s efforts in serving the Guests of the Most Merciful, alongside promoting intellectual security and answering the Sharia-related inquiries of Umrah performers.

Grand Mosque

The Grand Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Mecca or Masjid al-Haram, is the largest mosque in the world and the holiest site in Islam. Its history dates back to the time of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), and it has been continuously expanded over centuries to accommodate millions of pilgrims. The mosque’s central focus is the Kaaba, the cubic structure which Muslims face during daily prayers.

Makkah Al-Mukarramah

Makkah Al-Mukarramah (often translated as “Makkah the Honored”) is the holiest city in Islam, located in present-day Saudi Arabia. It is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and the site of the Kaaba, the most sacred shrine in Islam, which Islamic tradition holds was originally built by the Prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael. Every year, millions of Muslims perform the Hajj pilgrimage to the city, a mandatory religious duty that traces its rites back to these ancient origins.
