It was confirmed that the sports sector in Morocco has undergone deep structural transformations and achieved historic accomplishments, thanks to the high royal care of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
This was stated in a speech delivered during the opening of the International Forum on Sports, organized by the House of Representatives under the high patronage of His Majesty the King, with significant participation from various national and international sports stakeholders.
The Skhirat Forum: The Starting Point for Reforming Moroccan Sports
The Minister explained that the reform path, which started from the recommendations of the Skhirat Forum, has begun to bear fruit on the ground, highlighting that the high royal support was a decisive factor in the success of this transformation, both in terms of developing high-level sports and achieving efficiency in sports investment.
He added that Moroccan champions have achieved exceptional accomplishments, embodied in global football prominence, alongside Olympic and Paralympic brilliance, which has strengthened Morocco’s position on the international sports scene.
Advanced Infrastructure and Hosting Major Sporting Events
It was noted that sports infrastructure and facilities have also witnessed a qualitative and profound transformation, enabling the Kingdom to earn the honor of hosting major continental and global events, in a practical embodiment of the royal vision aimed at making sports a lever for development and international influence.
Governance and Institutional Coordination at the Heart of the Ministry’s Work
The Minister confirmed that the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports is working to strengthen and consolidate the foundations of good governance in managing sports affairs, through developing institutional coordination and concluding performance-based contracts, which aim to deepen the strategic partnership with the Moroccan National Olympic Committee and sports federations.
