Retired Fire Officer Gives Fire Safety Tips; Suggests Biannual System Checks and Video Submission

A crucial meeting on fire safety and fire prevention technical topics was successfully held this evening at 5 PM at the office of the Federation of Surat Trade and Textile Association.

The main objective of this meeting was to secure textile markets, warehouses, and commercial premises from accidents like fires. The meeting featured experienced fire safety experts as the main speakers.

The experts provided detailed information on the use of modern fire safety systems and adherence to safety standards. Considering current circumstances, they shared practical and effective precautions to prevent fire incidents in warehouses and narrow market areas. During the meeting, an important suggestion emerged to make safety more transparent. A trader advised that

“The fire department should inspect the pumps and entire fire system in all markets twice a year. A video of this inspection must be made and submitted to the Surat Municipal Corporation to ensure the system is fully operational during an emergency.”

The meeting was attended by various directors, market leaders, and managers. All officials seriously discussed fire safety and emphasized that such awareness programs would continue to be organized in the future for the safety of traders.

The continuous effort is to ensure that not only does business grow in Surat’s textile trade area, but a safe and secure business environment is also guaranteed.
