PANDEGLANG — Senior journalist and Advisor of the Indonesian Academics Forum (FAI) from Pandeglang, Banten, Aat Surya Safaat, praised Banten Governor Andra Soni for inaugurating the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Labuan District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province, named “RSUD Muhammad Irsjad Djuwaeli”.

“The name Irsjad Djuwaeli cannot be separated from the Mathla’ul Anwar organization because the late was a figure who ‘brought’ Mathla’ul Anwar to the national level. Hence, with the establishment of RSUD Muhammad Irsjad Djuwaeli, the name Mathla’ul Anwar continues to flourish,” he said in a conversation with fellow journalists in Pandeglang, Sunday (1/6/2025).

The inauguration of RSUD Muhammad Irsjad Djuwaeli itself was carried out by Banten Governor Andra Soni in Labuan Pandeglang on Wednesday morning, May 28, 2025, marking a historic moment for the people of Banten, including the large family of Mathla’ul Anwar across Indonesia. Besides once leading Mathla’ul Anwar, Irsjad Djuwaeli is also known as one of the founders of Banten Province.

“I remember well, the late KH Irsjad Djuwaeli was a Mathla’ul Anwar figure who understood ‘management and leadership’ and always emphasized the importance of solid ‘networking’ and ‘teamwork.’ So it’s no wonder that under his leadership, Mathla’ul Anwar continued to grow until it established a tertiary education institution, namely Mathla’ul Anwar University,” said Aat.

The New York Bureau Chief of ANTARA News Agency from 1993-1998 and Director of ANTARA in 2016 further expressed gratitude that the leadership skills of the deceased have been passed down to his daughter, Hj Trisna NY Djuwaeli, and his son, H Andi YH Djuwaeli, who are now actively involved in the Central MUI management and several other organizations, both centrally and regionally.

Meanwhile, during the hospital inauguration event, the Governor of Banten stated that naming the RSUD Muhammad Irsjad Djuwaeli is a form of recognition for the contributions and commitment of the local figure who fought for the establishment of Banten Province.

“Hopefully, this RSUD will be beneficial in improving the health quality of the community, especially in the Labuan area and its surroundings. The hospital construction is ongoing, and any facilities not yet available will be gradually completed,” said Andra Soni.

The RSUD, situated on a 6,545 square meter area with buildings covering 8,581 square meters, is now operational as a Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) and serves patients enrolled in the BPJS Health program.

The hospital facilities are considered complete for a regional (local) hospital, featuring a modern emergency room, CT Scan, 4G ultrasound, advanced operating rooms, and PICU and NICU services.

RSUD Muhammad Irsjad Djuwaeli is nationally accredited and designed to meet high quality standards. It is currently supported by 391 professional staff from various medical and non-medical fields.

The inauguration of the RSUD was attended by important figures such as the Governor of Banten 2017-2022 Wahidin Halim, Pandeglang Regent Rd Dewi Setiani, Serang Regent Rt Rachmatu Zakiyah, and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Mathla’ul Anwar (PBMA) KH Embay Mulya Syarif.

Meanwhile, more than a thousand residents from the Labuan area and its surroundings attended and participated in the free health check services prepared as part of the hospital’s inauguration events. (**)
