“The allegation is an ethical code violation. There are three main points we presented in the report,” said the reporter during a press conference.

The first point concerns a clash that occurred among residents in Mela Village, Tapian Nauli District, Tapteng.

“Based on a circulating video, it is clearly visible that Rahmansyah Sibarani was present in the crowd at the location of the clash,” the reporter said.

The second point involves a video showing Rahmansyah Sibarani throwing objects at people who intended to hold a protest rally at the Tapteng DPRD office.

At that time, people representing the New Tapteng Movement for Change were moving towards the Tapteng DPRD office on Jalan Raja Junjungan Lubis, Pandan.

“But during their journey, the crowd was blocked, stopped, and intimidated by a group of people who were waiting at the location,” they said.

The third point is the viral spread on social media of a video containing a conversation about indecent behavior via video call between Rahmansyah Sibarani and a woman who is not his legal spouse.

“We hope the North Sumatra DPRD Honorary Board can be transparent regarding the alleged ethical violations, which we believe are very damaging,” the reporter stated.

A reporter who is also a legal practitioner revealed that Rahmansyah Sibarani is strongly suspected of having violated North Sumatra DPRD Regulation Number 2/2020 concerning the Procedures of the North Sumatra DPRD and North Sumatra DPRD Regulation Number 10/K/2015 concerning the Code of Ethics of the North Sumatra DPRD.

“Our hope is that the North Sumatra DPRD Honorary Board can consider and follow up on the report that has been submitted. Because this alleged ethical violation has damaged the honor of the North Sumatra DPRD,” they said.

Another reporter added that the incident began when a community group wanted to convey their opinions to the Tapteng DPRD Office but were blocked, beaten, threatened, and intimidated by a group of people.

“So it wasn’t a clash, let’s be clear. To be clear, at that time the community wanted to convey their aspirations to the Tapteng DPRD Office, and at that point, there were people blocking them, some were hitting, carrying blocks, and there were also those throwing objects,” the reporter said.

Furthermore, the reporter mentioned that in a press conference after the incident, someone claimed that the provocateur was a member of the Tapteng Police, but this was directly denied by the Police Chief.

“We need to state that no one is above the law; we trust the police. As law enforcers, we believe this institution can uphold its good name,” they said.

The reporter also emphasized that Tapanuli Tengah does not belong to a specific group of people or a particular family but belongs to the entire community.

The community wants to struggle and join hands to improve Tapteng, which has been severely damaged and ruined.

“We can see and feel for ourselves the extent of poverty in Tapteng so far. Hopefully, under the current government, the people’s lives can improve,” they concluded.
