Diwali
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a major religious and cultural celebration originating in the Indian subcontinent, primarily observed by Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains. Its history is rooted in ancient legends, such as the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom after 14 years of exile. Today, it symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness and good over evil, marked by the lighting of oil lamps, fireworks, family gatherings, and prayers.
Chhath Puja
Chhath Puja is an ancient Hindu festival dedicated to the Sun God (Surya) and his consort, Chhathi Maiya. Primarily observed in the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, as well as in Nepal, its origins are traced back to the Vedic times and it is mentioned in ancient texts like the Rigveda. The festival involves rigorous rituals spanning four days, including holy bathing, fasting, and offering prayers to the rising and setting sun.
BrahMos missile
The BrahMos missile is a supersonic cruise missile developed through a joint venture between India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya. Named after India’s Brahmaputra River and Russia’s Moskva River, it was first successfully tested in 2001 and is known as one of the world’s fastest cruise missiles in operation. It is a key component of the Indian Armed Forces’ arsenal for land, sea, and air-based platforms.

Lucknow is the capital city of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, renowned as the historical capital of the Nawabs of Awadh. Hanuman Ji
Hanuman Ji is a revered Hindu deity worshipped as a symbol of strength, devotion, and loyalty. He is a central figure in the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, where he played a crucial role in helping Lord Rama rescue his wife Sita. Temples dedicated to Hanuman, such as the famous Hanuman Mandir in Delhi and Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple in Varanasi, are prominent pilgrimage sites across India and beyond.
Choti Diwali
“Choti Diwali,” or “Little Diwali,” is a festive occasion celebrated in India on the day before the main Diwali festival. It commemorates Lord Krishna’s victory over the demon Narakasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. The day is marked by early morning rituals, festive preparations, and the lighting of lamps.
Dhanteras
Dhanteras is a Hindu festival that marks the beginning of the five-day Diwali celebration. It is dedicated to the worship of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and Dhanvantari, the god of Ayurveda. The tradition involves buying new items, particularly gold or utensils, as it is considered auspicious for bringing prosperity and good health.
