Illegal constructions near the Unisma River finally demolished
BEKASI CITY – Illegal structures along the Kalimalang River near Islamic University «45» (UNISMA) Bekasi were finally demolished by the Bekasi City Government on Monday.
The city administration plans to transform the area into a Green Open Space (RTH) for the residents of Bekasi City.
“For now, the proposed plan for the Kalimalang Riverside area is to convert it into a park,” said the Head of the Bekasi City Spatial Planning Office.
In the same location, the East Bekasi District Head stated that the majority of traders in the area are from outside Bekasi City.
“Based on our records, there are around 74 traders operating at this location. However, most are not residents of Bekasi City, with only 9 coming from East Bekasi,” she explained.
She added that her office would continue coordinating with relevant departments regarding post-demolition plans for the area.
«I will coordinate with the Bekasi City Transportation Agency (Dishub) regarding street lighting arrangements to ensure proper illumination. Additionally, I will work with the Bekasi Public Works and Water Resources Agency (DBMSDA) to preserve the trees in this area,» she concluded.
Kalimalang River
