
Kiran Rao’s film “Missing Ladies” made history at this year’s Filmfare Awards. Praised for its powerful direction, excellent acting, and strong story, the film won the hearts of both audiences and critics by taking home the most awards of the ceremony – 13. Directed by Kiran Rao, “Missing Ladies” won 13 awards at the 70th Filmfare Awards, including the award for Best Director.
According to a press release, the event was hosted by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, film producer Karan Johar, and actor Manish Paul, and was held on Saturday at the AKA Arena in Ahmedabad.


“Missing Ladies” was declared Best Film, and Rao received the Best Director award. Released in 2024, the film starred Pratibha Ranta and Nitanshi Goel as two brides who get swapped on a train. Both lead actresses received awards, with Goel winning the Best Debut Actress award and Ranta receiving the Critics’ Best Actress award. Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan won the awards for Best Supporting Actor.
