The Tangerang City Government has expressed its support for the plan to accelerate the development of the East-West Line Integrated Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Phase II, with the route from Cikarang to Balaraja.
This support is a strategic step by the City Government to realize an integrated and modern transportation system in the Greater Tangerang area.
The Deputy Mayor of Tangerang emphasized that this mass infrastructure project is key to the city’s future.
“We fully support the acceleration of this project because it is not just about trains, but about creating a foundation for more efficient and integrated public services,” he said.
According to the Deputy Mayor, the MRT East-West Line project, especially Phase II which will cross the Tangerang area, is considered crucial for tackling congestion problems and improving connectivity between Tangerang City, DKI Jakarta, and the Banten region.
This aligns with the Tangerang City Government’s efforts to continuously strengthen clean and transparent governance through the Integrated Government Internal Control System, which also impacts the efficiency of public services, including in the transportation sector.
“If the transportation system is strong and integrated, the public will directly feel the benefits, both in terms of shorter travel times and open business opportunities,” he added.
The Tangerang City Government is also ready to collaborate with the central government and other relevant parties to smooth the process of building this strategic infrastructure.
“It is hoped that with the acceleration of the MRT project, it will not only facilitate public mobility access but also encourage local economic growth,” he concluded.
