As the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period passes its midpoint, Chongqing’s cultural tourism market continues to heat up. Major attractions are showcasing their unique offerings with various locally distinctive activities that attract visitors from all directions.

Red tourism sites are particularly popular. The Chongqing Hongyan Revolutionary History and Culture Center’s various attractions received 37,000 visitors on the first day of the National Day holiday alone. The center also launched two special exhibitions including “Reaching Out and Drawing In – The CPC Southern Bureau and the World Anti-Fascist United Front” along with “Singing for the Motherland” flash mob performances, which have been well-received by visitors.

The World Cultural Heritage site of Dazu Rock Carvings saw ticket purchases reach 64,760 in the first three days, a 36.03% year-on-year increase, setting a new historical record. The site uses technological methods like naked-eye 3D screens and VR experiences to bring the thousand-year-old carvings to life, while also providing warm volunteer services and hosting diverse cultural activities such as parent-child tracing and traditional craft performances to meet varied visitor needs.

Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum offered two traditional cultural experience programs: “Golden Lacquer Flowing, Fan Dance Brilliance – National Day Themed Lacquer Fan DIY Experience” and “Craftsmanship Heritage, Imprint Celebration – National Day Themed Woodblock Printing Experience,” providing diverse and deep cultural participation options for museum visitors.

Chongqing Happy Valley featured drone fireworks shows and immersive interactive film special effects performances. Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area hosted the “Jinfo Mountain 2025 National Trend Culture Festival” series events including peak challenge competitions. Wulong held the “National Day Aviation Culture Tourism Activity Week and First Free Sky Aviation Flight Performance Competition” at Fairy Mountain Airport and Fairy Mountain Scenic Area, showcasing spectacular flight displays, each with their own highlights.

As a popular suburban destination, Maxin Red Wine Town’s new amusement offerings and cultural experiences have become key attractions. In the indoor mechanical amusement park “Colorful Carnival,” over 50 attractions including “Desert Journey Roller Coaster” and “Dome Theater” are extremely popular. The “Phantom Roller Coaster” and “Cobra Roller Coaster” at Jigong Mountain have become must-visit attractions for young visitors. By October 6th, the scenic area had received over 800,000 visitors in six days, with average daily attendance nearing 140,000.

Within the scenic area, red wine cultural activities themed “Fragrant Golden Autumn • Enjoying the Double Festival” further enriched visitor experiences. In the wine exhibition area, professional tasters provided on-site guidance on wine selection techniques, while “online + offline” special offers boosted consumption. The area innovatively introduced “Fuling Three Treasures” specialty mooncakes featuring red wine, Fuling black pork, and pickled vegetable flavors for free tasting, paired with special dining options like red wine banquets and pickled vegetable banquets, creating a deep connection between taste experiences and local culture that provided visitors with unique travel experiences.
