In cooperation with the Public Prosecution, outstanding law students in Riyadh receive training.
The Forensic Medical Services Center in Riyadh organized a training program for outstanding law students from universities, as part of the joint cooperation between the Center and the Public Prosecution.
Comprehensive Training Program
The Center Director welcomed the trainees, emphasizing the Center’s commitment to utilizing its capabilities to achieve training objectives and develop their skills to meet their aspirations.
He explained that the program is part of practical plans to enhance students’ knowledge in the applied aspects of forensic medicine. It included learning about investigation mechanisms in homicide cases, methods for determining the time and cause of death, changes that occur in the body after death, as well as autopsy procedures, laboratory sample collection and preservation, and methods for identifying unknown individuals through DNA testing.
Specialized Lectures
The program included a series of specialized lectures covering the principles of forensic medicine, the most prominent cases handled in forensic medicine, common injury patterns, and the relationship between forensic medicine and the media.
The visit concluded with a field tour for the trainees through the Center’s facilities, where they observed various departments and work mechanisms.
Forensic Medical Services Center
The Forensic Medical Services Center is a modern facility in Qatar that officially opened in 2013. It serves as a central institution for conducting autopsies, clinical forensic examinations, and forensic laboratory analyses to support the country’s criminal justice and legal systems. Its establishment consolidated various forensic services into one state-of-the-art center to enhance the efficiency and scientific standards of forensic medicine in Qatar.
Public Prosecution
The Public Prosecution is a legal institution responsible for representing the state in criminal proceedings, investigating crimes, and ensuring the proper application of law. Its origins can be traced back to ancient legal systems, but it became a formal, independent body in many countries during the 19th century as part of judicial reforms. Today, it serves as a cornerstone of the criminal justice system, upholding public order and protecting citizens’ rights.
