Pakistan: 6.0 magnitude earthquake strikes Islamabad and neighboring cities

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck the Pakistani capital Islamabad and neighboring cities, including parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
It was reported that residents in distant places such as Lahore felt the earthquake, which caused panic among citizens and prompted them to leave their homes.
The National Seismic Monitoring Center of the Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that the earthquake’s epicenter was in southeastern Afghanistan.

15 kilometers below the earth’s surface

The tremors were recorded at a depth of 15 kilometers below the earth’s surface in the Hindu Kush mountains, according to Pakistan’s announcement. Residents felt strong tremors in Peshawar, Mardan, Murree, and surrounding areas, prompting people to leave their homes and offices in a state of panic.
Similar reports were also received from Chakwal, Taxila, Wah Cantonment, and Lahore.
No major damage or injuries were immediately reported.
