Soaring with Aerospace Dreams, Igniting the Future with Passion

On September 29, the 2025 National Youth Aerospace Model Championships commenced at Beijing’s Miyun District Huabin Airport. Over 2,900 young participants will compete in the nine-day event, chasing their dreams in the skies and creating the future with innovation.

The opening ceremony featured spectacular aerobatic performances, with six professional teams showcasing formation flying and stunt routines. The beautifully crafted model aircraft traced brilliant paths across the blue sky, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

As the highest-level competition in China’s youth aerospace modeling field, this event introduced a dual-venue format for the first time. The main venue at Huabin Airport focuses on aircraft racing and aerobatic displays, while the secondary venue at Beijing Normal University Miyun Experimental Academy hosts static model design and innovation competitions. The event features over 50 competition categories across three main types: free-flight models, control-line models, and radio-controlled models, attracting intense competition among the young participants.

This competition represents an important implementation of national science and education strategies, combining competitive events with science education to inspire youth interest and enthusiasm for aerospace fields. The event not only provides a platform for young people to showcase their innovative capabilities but also helps cultivate future talent for the aerospace industry.

The successful hosting of this event demonstrates how ecological advantages can be leveraged to introduce technology sports events that drive regional development. The area is deepening its comprehensive development strategy that integrates technology innovation with cultural tourism and specialized industries, promoting high-quality development through the integration of ecology, life quality, and lifestyle. The competition aligns closely with this development positioning, embodying the concept that “clear waters and green mountains are invaluable assets” through an integrated “event+” development model that creates regionally distinctive comprehensive brand activities, promotes consumption upgrades and industrial transformation.

In the competition areas, free-flight models danced gracefully through the air, tracing elegant trajectories, while control-line competitors precisely maneuvered their models through complex aerobatic routines. Radio-controlled drones engaged in intense racing competitions across the blue sky. Participants focused intently on operating their carefully designed aircraft models, demonstrating exceptional technical skill. Outside the competition zones, a food market featuring local snacks, intangible cultural heritage displays, and trendy cultural creations became a highlight. Aerospace-themed installations and interactive displays added rich recreational enjoyment to this technology sports event, allowing every participant to immerse themselves in the experience.

With the opening ceremony complete, this nine-day technology sports extravaganza has officially begun. Amidst the clear skies and beautiful waters, young competitors will use their models as wings and innovation as sails, showcasing brilliant collisions of wisdom and courage across more than 50 competitive events.

Coinciding with the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, this event offers citizens a unique holiday experience. The area has also released three autumn-themed premium tourism routes and various special activities, creating deep autumn travel experiences where visitors can tour, appreciate, taste, and feel the season.

National Day

“National Day” is not a specific place or cultural site, but a commemorative holiday celebrated by many nations to mark a significant event in their history, such as independence, revolution, or the founding of the republic. For example, France’s Bastille Day on July 14th celebrates the start of the French Revolution, while the United States’ Independence Day on July 4th marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. These days are typically observed with public ceremonies, parades, and fireworks to foster national unity and pride.

Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a major harvest festival celebrated in many East Asian cultures, with its origins dating back over 3,000 years to moon worship in China’s Shang Dynasty. It traditionally honors the harvest and the full moon, symbolizing unity and abundance. Today, it is marked by family gatherings, eating mooncakes, and lighting lanterns.
