On September 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced the decision to appoint Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang Minh as Director of Children’s Hospital 1 (Ho Chi Minh City).
Speaking at the ceremony to assume his new duties, the new director set the goal for the hospital to become a leading specialized pediatric medical center in Southeast Asia, ensuring the hospital’s sustainable development based on the “three pillars” approach.
Accordingly, the hospital will continuously develop technical expertise, enhance professional capacity, and serve as a solid foundation for the development of frontline hospitals and grassroots healthcare facilities.
Additionally, the hospital will strengthen improvements in treatment quality and patient services, aiming for patient and trainee satisfaction while ensuring the legitimate rights of healthcare staff.
Furthermore, the hospital will continuously innovate, encourage initiatives, improvements, and apply innovations in operations to ensure efficiency and adapt to increasingly demanding development requirements.
Children’s Hospital 1 will also focus on comprehensive development across three strategic aspects: infrastructure, human resources, and specialized departments.

Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang Minh graduated as a general practitioner in 1997 from the Ho Chi Minh City Medical Training Center (now Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine).
In 2003, he completed his master’s program in pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City. He successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in medicine in 2014 at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit, one of the world’s leading clinical research centers.
Dr. Minh has held many important management positions at the hospital, and in 2017 he was appointed as Deputy Director of Children’s Hospital 1.
