Former Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Phan Thi My Thanh and several officials from the province have been prosecuted for alleged violations related to the King Bay super project on a 125-hectare land plot.

On the afternoon of October 6, at the third quarter 2025 press conference of the Ministry of Public Security, information about the case was provided.

In the same case, several individuals were prosecuted including former Chairmen of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee; former Vice Chairmen of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee; former Head of the Investment Office of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Office; and the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Free Land Joint Stock Company.

The above suspects were prosecuted for investigation of violations of regulations on management and use of state property causing loss and waste.

Phan Thi My Thanh was born in 1965. After a period as Deputy Director of Tan Mai Wood Company, she was appointed as Director of the Department of Industry (now Department of Industry and Trade) concurrently as Secretary of the Party Committee of the department. During the planning period of “Nhon Trach New City,” she was appointed as Secretary of Nhon Trach District Party Committee.

Subsequently, she was brought back to serve as Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, and was structured into the Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee.

At the 10th Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress (2015-2020 term), she was trusted to serve as Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, in charge of Party work. She was elected as a National Assembly delegate in 2016, serving as Head of the Dong Nai Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

In July 2017, disciplinary action was taken against My Thanh in the form of a warning because while holding positions as Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, and Secretary of Nhon Trach District Party Committee, she participated in the management of Cuong Hung Company Limited where her husband was a founding shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, which violated the Anti-Corruption Law.

In April 2018, a disciplinary announcement was issued regarding Party discipline, which confirmed that the violations and shortcomings of Phan Thi My Thanh were “very serious, causing discontent among officials, party members and the people, adversely affecting the prestige of the Party organization and individuals.”

A decision was made to discipline Phan Thi My Thanh by dismissing her from all Party positions.

By May 2018, a resolution was issued to relieve Phan Thi My Thanh of her duties as a National Assembly delegate.

The application was signed by Phan Thi My Thanh yesterday and has been received today.
