Missing male student found while climbing Tam Dao mountain
The leader of the People’s Committee of Tam Dao commune (Phu Tho province) announced that student N.T.A. was found after 36 hours of being missing while climbing Tam Dao mountain.
As of 7:20 AM on April 21, the Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dao Tru commune stated that rescue forces had found N.T.A. (19 years old, from Hanoi, a student at Dai Nam University).
“When found, he was still healthy. I am currently on my way to the location where he was found,” the Vice Chairman added.
The People’s Committee of Dao Tru commune further reported that around 6 AM on April 21, authorities located N.T.A. after more than 36 hours of being missing.
Forces are currently continuing to implement safety measures and monitor the student’s health condition.
As previously reported, on the morning of April 19, student N.T.A. (19 years old, from Hanoi, a student at Dai Nam University) went with a group of friends to climb the northern peak of Tam Dao mountain.
N.T.A.’s group started from the foot of the mountain at Doc Rit, Tam Dao. During the journey, due to the complex forest and mountain terrain, they got lost and lost contact with their families.
N.T.A. was confirmed missing from around 6 PM on April 19, in the Tam Dao mountain area (in Vinh Ninh hamlet, Dao Tru commune).

On the afternoon of April 20, immediately after receiving the report, the People’s Committee of Dao Tru commune mobilized authorities and local residents to conduct an overnight search in the suspected area.
Authorities also used thermal flycams to expand the observation range to aid in the search for the missing student.

The Tam Dao mountain range stretches nearly 80 km, located across the three provinces of Vinh Phuc (now Phu Tho), Thai Nguyen, and Tuyen Quang.
The Tam Dao range includes many peaks, with the highest being the northern peak of Tam Dao at 1,591 meters.
Three peaks often seen appearing in the mist, giving the name Tam Dao, are Thien Thi (1,375 meters), Thach Ban (1,388 meters), and Phu Nghia (1,400 meters).
Among these, the most commonly chosen route is the trek across the three Tam Dao peaks: Thien Thi, Thach Ban, and Phu Nghia.
