According to a report from the Thanh Trì Commune People’s Committee, on the afternoon of July 19, there was a strong storm, but no significant damage to people or property was reported in the area. However, 19 fallen trees were cleared by local forces.
From the morning of July 20, functional forces such as the local Police, Military, Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations mobilized hundreds of volunteers and residents from villages and residential areas to conduct environmental cleanup, remove fallen trees, replant greenery, and ensure traffic safety and urban aesthetics.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next 24 hours, Hanoi’s inner city and Thanh Trì Commune will continue to experience heavy rain, with rainfall ranging from 20-50mm, and exceeding 80mm in some areas. This rain is likely to cause flooding in many areas, making transportation difficult.
In response, Thanh Trì Commune has requested the local Military Command, Police, Economic Department, and related units to organize on-duty teams, prepare personnel and equipment for emergency situations, inspect vulnerable areas prone to landslides and flooding, and propose evacuation plans if necessary.

Additionally, the commune is coordinating with police, militia, and medical forces to ensure rescue operations and public safety (if needed). They are inspecting critical areas and ongoing construction projects, preparing manpower and materials under the “4 on-site” principle, and staying ready to handle prolonged heavy rain and storms. Public awareness campaigns are also being intensified to guide residents on preventive measures against extreme weather conditions.
