Public Transport in Riyadh announced the addition of a new station for bus route number 942 starting August 31, to serve the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, as part of efforts to improve the travel experience and enhance integration between transport networks.

Public Transport in Riyadh explained that the new station will connect the dedicated bus route number 13 via Khalid bin Al-Waleed Station (04 A and 04 B) to the Riyadh train through the Red Line and Purple Line via Al-Hamra Station, contributing to facilitating passenger movement within the city and enhancing the efficiency of connectivity between buses and trains.

The Riyadh train project consists of 6 lines, including 85 stations, among which are 4 main stations, designed with modern engineering specifications that make them multi-use destinations combining architectural beauty and functional efficiency.

Khalid bin Al-Waleed Station

Khalid bin Al-Waleed Station is a major interchange station on the Dubai Metro, named after the renowned 7th-century Muslim military commander Khalid ibn al-Walid. It is notable for its striking architectural design, featuring blue aquatic themes and jellyfish-inspired domes to reflect its location near the waterfront in the BurJuman area. The station first opened in 2011 as part of the initial launch of the Dubai Metro’s Green Line.

Al-Hamra Station

Al-Hamra Station is a major metro station in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, serving as a key interchange on the city’s new public transport network. It was constructed as part of the King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport, which began development in the 2010s to address the city’s growing infrastructure needs. The station is a modern facility designed to efficiently connect passengers to different lines and reduce traffic congestion.

Red Line

The “Red Line” refers to the heavily fortified border between North and South Korea, established after the 1953 armistice that ended the Korean War. It is one of the most heavily militarized borders in the world and serves as a stark symbol of the ongoing division of the Korean peninsula.

Purple Line

The Purple Line is a planned 16-mile light rail transit line currently under construction in Maryland, USA, designed to connect the Bethesda and New Carrollton Metrorail stations. Its history is rooted in decades of regional transit planning to address severe east-west transportation gaps in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. Once completed, it will be the first direct rail connection between Maryland’s major Red, Green, and Orange Metrorail lines.
