Former Liverpool and Arsenal goalkeeper, Austrian Alex Manninger, has died at just 48 years old following a horrific traffic accident when his car collided with a local train near “Nussdorf am Haunsberg”.
Liverpool Football Club announced the death of their former player via a statement published on its official social media account. The statement said: “Liverpool Football Club is deeply saddened by the death of its former goalkeeper Alex Manninger at the age of 48”.
The club added in its statement: “The Liverpool family extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to Alex’s family and friends at this difficult time”.
Several reports had confirmed the death of the former Liverpool, Arsenal, and Juventus goalkeeper as a result of this accident.
