The esteemed Imam and Khateeb of the Grand Mosque stated that nothing occurs in this universe except by Allah’s decree, will, wisdom, and command—be it night, day, winds, rain, or recurring events—reminding believers that this world is not a permanent abode.
He emphasized that all of this is part of Allah’s cosmic signs, demonstrating His immense power, knowledge, and wisdom, and that everything is measured by His will.
He asked: Who among us has not been affected by the summer heat or felt the sun’s scorching rays? He continued: It is a summer reminder through which Allah warns His servants of the heat of Judgment Day and the torment of Hellfire.
The Reward for Patience in the Heat
He explained that intense heat is among the signs Allah sends to His servants as a warning and reminder, a lesson and admonition. As stated in the Quran: “We send the signs only as a warning.”
He affirmed that the hardship and fatigue a believer endures from the heat are all recorded and accounted for by the One who never lets good deeds go to waste. Through this, sins are erased, good deeds multiplied, and ranks elevated.
It was said: Seeking reward in righteous deeds and during hardships means hastening to earn divine recompense through submission and patience.
He highlighted that, in His mercy, Allah has prescribed for His servants only what they can bear and has not burdened them beyond their capacity.
He urged people to check on the poor and needy, easing their suffering from the blazing sun according to their ability. Among such acts is providing cool water, which is one of the best forms of charity.
Grand Mosque
(Alternatively, if referring to another Grand Mosque, such as the **Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque** in Abu Dhabi, UAE, it is a stunning modern architectural marvel completed in 2007, blending Islamic design traditions with contemporary elements.)
