The National Center of Meteorology issued a statement on the expected weather conditions for Friday in the Kingdom, warning of extremely cold weather and fog formation over parts of 9 regions.

According to the meteorological statement; the weather will be cold to extremely cold over the Northern Borders, Al-Jawf, Tabuk, Hail, and Al-Qassim regions, extending to parts of the Riyadh and Al-Madinah regions, as well as over the highlands of the Makkah and Al-Baha regions.

The formation of fog and frost is also not ruled out during the night and early morning hours over parts of those regions.

Saudi Arabia Weather

Meanwhile, surface wind activity causing dust and sandstorms continues over parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Qassim, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, as well as over the western and northwestern parts of the Kingdom, and it may lead to near-zero horizontal visibility over the coastal parts of these areas.

The chance for thundery rain showers over the southern parts of the Eastern Region remains.

Red Sea

  • Surface Winds: Northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds of 25-50 km/h over the northern and central parts, and at speeds of 18-37 km/h over the southern part.
  • Wave Height: From one and a half to two and a half meters over the northern and central parts, and from half a meter to one and a half meters over the southern part.
  • Sea State: Moderate to rough over the northern and central parts, and light to moderate over the southern part.

Arabian Gulf

  • Surface Winds: Northwesterly to westerly at speeds of 25-55 km/h, reaching over 60 km/h with the formation of thundery rain clouds.
  • Wave Height: From one and a half to two and a half meters, reaching over two and a half meters with the formation of thundery rain clouds.
  • Sea State: Light to moderate, becoming rough with the formation of thundery rain clouds.

Northern Borders

Hail

Al-Qassim
