The National Center of Meteorology forecasts in its weather report for today, Friday, that medium to heavy thunderstorms will lead to flash floods, accompanied by active winds and hail showers in parts of the Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, and Makkah regions.
The weather will remain hot to extremely hot in the Eastern Region, while active winds causing dust and sandstorms will affect parts of it, extending to areas of Riyadh and Najran.
Parts of the Madinah and Makkah regions will also experience near-zero horizontal visibility on the coastal road leading to Jazan.
Red Sea
Surface winds: North to northwesterly at 12-40 km/h in the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to westerly at 15-50 km/h in the southern part.
Wave height: 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the northern and central parts, and 1.5 to 2.5 meters in the southern part.
Sea condition: Slight to moderate waves, becoming rough in the southern part.
Arabian Gulf
Surface winds: North to northwesterly at 15-35 km/h in the northern and central parts, and easterly to northeasterly at 10-30 km/h in the southern part.
Wave height: 0.5 to 1.5 meters.
Sea condition: Slight to moderate waves.
Eastern Region Weather
The National Center of Meteorology warned in its weather report of a heatwave, light rain, dust storms, and active winds in the Eastern Region today, Friday.
The heatwave will start at 11 AM and continue until 5 PM.
The warning includes: Jubail, Khobar, Dammam, Qatif, Ras Tanura, Many, Dhablotan, Al Ahsa, Bqaiq, Khafji, Nuayriyah, Hafar Al-Batin, and Qurayyah.
The accompanying effects include temperatures rising to (47–48) degrees Celsius.
Light rain is expected in Al Uqaylah, Many, and Dhablotan, from 1 PM until 9 PM, with active winds, reduced horizontal visibility, and thunderstorms.
Khafji, Nuayriyah, Qurayyah, Al Ahsa, Many, Bqaiq, and Dhablotan will experience dust storms starting at 9 AM and lasting until 8 PM.
The dust will be accompanied by active winds and near-zero horizontal visibility (1–3) kilometers.
The Meteorological Department also warned of active winds in Jubail, Khobar, Dammam, Qatif, and Ras Tanura.
The phenomenon will start at 9 AM and continue until 8 PM.
The accompanying effects include reduced horizontal visibility and winds reaching speeds of (40–49) km/h.
Jazan
