The capital’s transport department has urged residents and visitors to use the metro for travel around the city on Monday. The Road Traffic Management Center reported that weather forecasters predict heavy rainfall will continue until the end of the day.
“Today, the metro is faster,” stated the Transport Department’s announcement.
According to the Road Traffic Management Center, as of 10:00 Moscow time, the traffic situation was rated at 5 points. Due to weather conditions, traffic was temporarily blocked on Shelepikhinskaya Embankment near Building 2A, Block 3. Traffic has already been restored near Building 32, Block 6 on Shmitovsky Proezd.
“In the afternoon, we expect localized traffic disruptions in the central part of the city,” noted the Transport Department, “as well as on outbound highways heading toward the region.” Moscow authorities warned of possible disruptions to ground transportation in certain areas.
