The Teuchezh District Court ruled in favor of a local resident’s lawsuit for compensation for the loss of a breadwinner against JSC Russian Railways.
In support of her claim, the woman stated that in 2022, her husband, who was the sole provider for their daughter born in 2008, was fatally injured by a freight train operated by JSC Russian Railways.
The court determined the deceased’s average monthly income and ordered monthly survivor benefits to be paid to the daughter. The court also ruled that Russian Railways must pay the minor child the total amount of arrears for these monthly payments, which amounted to 458,070 rubles.
The defendant attempted to appeal the decision, but the Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Adygea found no grounds to overturn the ruling of the court of first instance.
