A report about the worsening health of visitors at one of the hotel complexes in Anapa was received by law enforcement agencies on the afternoon of August 27. Among the victims were children.
According to preliminary data, several hotel guests, including children, felt unwell after swimming in the hotel pool. Six children were hospitalized with signs of chlorine fume poisoning. Preliminary information indicates there is currently no threat to the children’s lives or health.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the provision of services that fail to meet safety requirements. Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. The scene has been examined, and witness interviews are underway. Investigators have requested documents relevant to the criminal investigation. Expert examinations have been ordered, including to determine the severity of the harm caused to the victims’ health.
