Former Khabarovsk Krai Governor Sergei Furgal, convicted of murder, cannot locate two of his cars that were placed in custodial storage as part of the criminal case, according to court documents.
Case materials indicate that his Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX 570 were transferred to custodial storage as part of the criminal proceedings. For this purpose, investigators signed a state contract with an individual entrepreneur who placed them in a parking lot.
However, during court proceedings related to payment for this parking, the defense stated that they have no information regarding the vehicles’ whereabouts.
– The fate of the two vehicles placed in custodial storage is unknown, — as stated in the documents.
However, the court did not accept these claims: “Arguments that the property is currently lost lack legal substantiation and do not affect the amount to be recovered.”
It was previously reported that an appeal regarding moral damages compensation was heard. Sergei Furgal and two accomplices must pay 4 million rubles to the widow of the murdered businessman. The appellate court upheld the lower court’s decision, only altering the procedure for paying the state duty.
