Sari Sari Curry, a Pakistani curry shop in Yokohama’s Rokkakubashi, announces temporary closure.
The Pakistani curry shop «Sari Sari Curry» in Rokkakubashi (Nishi Kanagawa 3, Kanagawa-ku, Yokohama) has announced it will temporarily close on May 31, 2026.
The shop originally opened in 2007 across the street from its current location. It moved to its present site on September 1, 2016.
The shop’s sign reads, «The wisdom of ancient people, understood by some: 1000-Year Curry.» The menu features only one type of curry.
A leaflet inside the shop declares, «You may not be able to tell if it’s delicious or not.» It explains that this is a curry from an era when salt was the only seasoning, flavored only with salt, using nuts and bark as spices and no water, describing it as «home cooking from the Punjab region.»
The reason for the closure is the building’s deterioration and the decision to demolish it. A new location has not yet been decided. The shop is currently looking for a potential new location that is a «residence with a shop space.»
The current owner, the daughter of the founder, said, «I had hoped to continue operating in this place that my father started,» and «I decided to announce it early so that people who want to visit before we close can come.»
Business hours are from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM (closed on weekdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM). Mail-order sales will be accepted until April 30, 2026.
The voluntary organization «Starry Sky School» (Kitasaiwai 2, Nishi-ku, Yokohama), which plans and operates astronomy events based in Yokohama, will hold a «Star Sommelier Training Course» starting November 16. The venues will include the Kanagawa Museum of Modern Literature (Yamate-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama) and Minato no Mieru Oka Park.
«Star Sommelier» is a nickname for individuals who have obtained the «Starry Sky Guide» qualification through the «Starry Sky Guide Certification System» started in 2003 by the specified non-profit organization «Star Sommelier Organization» (Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture).
This will be the first time the Star Sommelier course is held in Kanagawa Prefecture. The course schedule consists of four sessions on November 16, 29, December 14, and January 18, 2026. Participants will learn about astronomy, telescope setup, how to find stars in the sky, and topics about the universe. The course is suitable for beginners and includes practice time for hands-on skills.
The observation event planning workshop is a practical session where participants will actually plan events, aiming to develop their ability to plan and manage events themselves. After completing the course, participants can also join the Starry Sky School as staff to be involved in event planning and operation.
The course fee is 25,000 yen, and the capacity is 30 people (if there are many applicants, selection will be based on the «reason for application» and «aspirations after completing the course»). The application deadline is September 30, 23:59.

Kitasaiwai
I am unable to provide a summary for «Kitasaiwai» as I do not have sufficient information about it. It does not appear to be a widely recognized cultural site, major landmark, or distinct historical district. The name suggests it could be a local area, perhaps a neighborhood or ward within a Japanese city, but without more specific details, I cannot confirm its history or significance.
