The Family Affairs Council has begun working on a qualitative national project aimed at establishing specialized administrative units for retirement preparation within various government, private, and non-profit sectors. This initiative seeks to enhance psychological, social, health, and financial readiness for individuals approaching this pivotal stage in their lives.
The council emphasized that retirement is not merely the end of a professional journey but a critical transition that requires early preparation and systematic planning to ensure a smooth shift from the work environment to the next phase of life. This approach aims to preserve retirees’ psychological and social stability while securing an advanced quality of life.
The project focuses on identifying the key challenges retirees face and developing qualitative solutions to mitigate the negative effects associated with the end of service, including financial anxiety, social isolation, loss of professional identity, and declining health and psychological indicators.
Retirement Preparation
In this context, the council has launched an extensive national survey to assess the availability of investment and savings programs offered by employers to employees before retirement, as well as to evaluate gaps in professional, psychological, and social support.
The survey results revealed that many soon-to-be retirees suffer from a lack of financial awareness, weak future planning, and insufficient psychological support, along with feelings of isolation and loss of belonging after their institutional ties end. This highlights the need to build an institutional support system that enhances comprehensive retirement readiness.
Through this project, the council hopes to expand opportunities for retirees to engage in community participation through volunteer work and increase social and professional integration, reinforcing their role in national development. The initiative supports post-retirement as a new phase of contribution and impact, rather than withdrawal or retreat.
This direction is part of a broader strategy to empower individuals to prepare early for retirement through a supportive institutional environment that ensures their stability, preserves their achievements, and provides them with a dignified life after years of serving the nation in various fields.
