Tripoli, May 21, 2026 — The Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Agency announced on Wednesday the launch of a community initiative aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances within educational institutions, under the slogan: «Your Path.. Your Choice,» as part of its ongoing efforts to protect young people and establish a culture of prevention in society.

The launch event was attended by representatives from the agency’s Department of Awareness and Prevention, along with the Deputy Minister of Education for Educational Affairs, Dr. Masouda Al-Aswad, and the Deputy Minister for Inspection Affairs, Dr. Mohsen Al-Kabeer, in addition to a number of educators, specialists, and department directors from the ministry.

According to the agency, the event included a discussion session dedicated to the official announcement of the initiative, during which the importance of integrating efforts between educational institutions and relevant authorities was emphasized, aiming to enhance preventive awareness and build a safe educational environment that helps protect students from the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances.

The participants confirmed that the first launch of the initiative will take place in the municipality of Tajoura, in a step aimed at supporting awareness programs and community initiatives, and strengthening the role of municipalities in contributing to building a more aware and safer society.

The participants noted that the initiative represents a model of community partnership aimed at raising awareness among young people and promoting positive behaviors, thereby helping to reduce negative phenomena and protect future generations.
