From September 15 to 17, the Chongqing-Taiwan Industrial Cooperation Event was held in Chongqing. A delegation of Taiwanese businesspeople visited Yuzhong District, Chongqing High-Tech Zone, and Fuling District to explore cooperation opportunities in areas such as healthcare and smart industries.

Chongqing has always placed great importance on exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan. The city has formed an electronic information industry cluster primarily consisting of Taiwanese-funded enterprises such as Quanta, Inventec, Wistron, Foxconn, and Compal. As of the end of June, Chongqing had approved a total of 2,299 Taiwanese-funded enterprises, with a cumulative contractual investment of $32.379 billion and actual utilized investment of $8.062 billion.

In Yuzhong District, the Taiwan Health Industry Alliance Association led the delegation to visit Chongqing Headquarters City, Chongqing Medical University, and the First Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, exploring collaboration in the healthcare sector.

To integrate the healthcare resources of Chongqing and Taiwan, the Cross-Strait Life Science and Health Industrial Park project was signed and will be established in Yuzhong District. Additionally, the Taiwan Health Industry Alliance Association and the Chongqing Health Industry Chamber of Commerce reached a cooperation intent, which will optimize the industrial structure, fill niche sectors, and enhance industrial clustering for the «Chongqing Medical University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.»

«Chongqing is an open city, and since arriving here, I have found surprises and marvels everywhere,» said the chairman of the Taiwan Health Industry Alliance Association. After visiting Chongqing Medical University, he noted that Chongqing’s strength in medical research, education, and production has grown significantly, and many Taiwanese companies are interested in establishing a presence in Chongqing. He expressed full confidence and expectations for the development of Taiwanese businesses in Chongqing, believing that companies from both sides can collaborate in expanding investments,共建 laboratories, and technology licensing to accelerate the development of medical technology across the strait.

In Chongqing High-Tech Zone, the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association led the delegation to visit the Xiyong Microelectronics Park Industrial Investment Group and TXC (Chongqing) Electronics Co., Ltd.

At Xiyong Microelectronics Park, the delegation discussed new smart terminals, new energy automotive and motorcycle industries, software and information services, and cross-border e-commerce with relevant enterprise representatives. Participating Taiwanese businesspeople stated that the cooperation potential between Chongqing and Taiwan is limitless and expressed willingness to deepen economic and trade cooperation with Chongqing to share development benefits.

In Fuling District, the Taiwan Construction Association led the delegation to visit Compeq (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. and Taiji Group Chongqing Fuling Pharmaceutical Factory Co., Ltd. The delegation was deeply impressed by the companies’ intelligent production workshops, advanced management concepts, strong R&D capabilities, and strict quality control.

«This visit left a strong impression of Fuling High-Tech Zone. It only takes a little over an hour to reach downtown Chongqing, and with strong policy support, it has the potential to form an industrial cluster effect and attract more high-quality enterprises,» said the chairman of the Taiwan Construction Association. He mentioned that some Taiwanese businesses are already inquiring about personnel policies, company registration procedures, and other specific matters. The association will organize more Taiwanese businesspeople to visit Fuling for on-site inspections to further understand policy incentives and the investment environment.
