Starting today, China is temporarily introducing a visa-free policy for citizens of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay holding ordinary passports. This adds new members to China’s «circle of friends» for unilateral visa-free entry.
From June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, citizens of these five countries with ordinary passports will be able to visit China for business, tourism, private visits, or exchanges for stays not exceeding 30 days without requiring an entry visa.
This is the first time China’s visa-free policy has been extended to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. As a result, the number of countries included in China’s unilateral visa-free entry program has increased to 43.
