CIKARANG – The Revenue Agency of Bekasi Regency, on Monday (2/5/2025), continues to intensify tax collection from taxpayers midway through 2025, as one of the steps or efforts to prevent regional financial deficits.
The head of Bapenda Bekasi Regency, Ani Gustini, stated that her agency is taking active steps by going directly to the field, especially to follow up on taxpayers who are difficult to collect from.
“We’ve issued warnings to several tax objects like eateries and restaurants. So, we’ve put up stickers as warnings, whether they’ve paid or not,” she said.
To enhance the effectiveness of collection, the Head of Bapenda collaborates with the Bekasi District Attorney, covering legal consultations to forced collections in accordance with the prosecutor’s authority.
“For those who are stubborn and we’ve issued three warnings and still don’t pay, we send a letter to the prosecutor’s office. Then the prosecutor’s office calls them and thankfully, it is very effective,” she said.
She hopes that the community registered as taxpayers will comply with their obligations to pay taxes because taxes greatly contribute to the revenues of Bekasi Regency.
“Our regional revenue comes partly from taxes. Therefore, we hope that everyone can be a compliant taxpayer,” she said.
