New Delhi, February 1. The U.S. Congress has banned the use of the Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot DeepSeek in its offices. According to reports, Congress issued a notice stating that several chatbots are being used to upload dangerous software into systems. The notice also highlighted the risks associated with DeepSeek.
The U.S. Congress stated that the rapid development of AI technology has led to security and administrative challenges. Meanwhile, the Chief Administrative Officer of Congress mentioned that DeepSeek is currently under investigation, which is why its use is prohibited in congressional offices.
To mitigate any potential threats, the House has banned the use of DeepSeek on all issued devices. Additionally, employees are prohibited from installing DeepSeek on official phones, computers, and tablets.

DeepSeek Overtakes ChatGPT on App Stores The DeepSeek app can be downloaded from the company’s website and Apple’s App Store. It provides highly accurate results in complex tasks like AI coding and mathematics. Recently, it ranked first in downloads on Apple’s App Store in the U.S. and UK, surpassing OpenAI’s ChatGPT in both regions.
