Opposition Criticizes the Budget…
The former CM of Delhi and AAP coordinator said—A large portion of the country’s treasury is spent on waiving loans for a few wealthy billionaires. I had demanded that the budget announce no more loan waivers for billionaires. The saved funds should instead provide relief on home and vehicle loans for the middle class, waive farmers’ debts, and halve income tax and GST rates. I am disappointed this was not done.
The SP chief said—For us, the data on deaths in the Maha Kumbh stampede is more important than budget figures. The government has failed to disclose how many died, went missing, or were injured. Is this your definition of a developed India—people dying in stampedes?
A Congress MP said—When discussing states in the budget, we noticed Bihar received significant attention, while states like Telangana were overlooked. Today’s budget speech had a political agenda.
A DMK MP said—This is a very disappointing budget. The Finance Minister misled by saying no tax applies up to ₹12 lakh, then mentioned a 10% slab for ₹8-12 lakh. The budget heavily favors Bihar due to upcoming elections, while Tamil Nadu and other southern states were ignored.
