BACOLOD CITY – Fifty student leaders of Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS) will comprise the inaugural delegates of the “Galing Gobyerno!” Bacolod Young Leaders program, initiated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The program, implemented through the Bacolod City Local Governance Resource Center (BCLGRC), is a pioneering youth leadership initiative designed to nurture the next generation of changemakers in this highly urbanized city.

The DILG-Bacolod City said that as part of their training, the delegates will be assigned to do immersion work in the top five best-performing villages of the 2024 Better Bacolod Awards — 5, 32, Granada, Pahanocoy and Taculing.

“Here, they will co-create and implement community-based programs, transforming theory into practice, and leadership into genuine public service,” it added.

Memorandum Circular No. 2025-005 establishes “Galing Gobyerno!” as Bacolod City’s flagship youth leadership immersion and development program.

The DILG BCLGRC has partnered with the City of Bacolod City, Office of the Lone District of Bacolod, Panlungsod na Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan, Liga ng mga Barangay, Bacolod City National High School, and IF Green Technologies Inc. to implement the “Galing Gobyerno!” program.
