Kai Sotto has rejoined the Koshigaya Alphas in the Japan B. League as he continues to work his way back from an ACL injury, marking another step in his road to full recovery.

The center shared a photo of himself back in non-contact training that signaled his gradual return to basketball activities.

The 7-foot-3 Sotto returned to Koshigaya camp just weeks before the new B. League unfolds this October.

Sotto has been sidelined since January after suffering the injury, which forced him to miss a number of games for both the national team and his mother club.

He sat out the third and final window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in February and likewise missed the Asia Cup proper earlier this month, where the Philippines competed in the 16-team tournament.

Without Sotto, Gilas Pilipinas felt his absence, relying on June Mar Fajardo, Carl Tamayo, and Japeth Aguilar to anchor the frontcourt for Tim Cone’s squad.
