The Yokohama Regional Meteorological Observatory announced meteorological information concerning thunderstorms and strong gusts on the 17th. In Kanagawa Prefecture, from the evening to late night of the 17th, there is a call to be cautious about severe gusts such as lightning and tornadoes, and sudden heavy rains.

According to the observatory, due to the inflow of warm and humid air around the edge of the Pacific high pressure and the effect of temperature rise during the day, the atmospheric condition in the prefecture is expected to become very unstable. There is also a risk of hail, and attention is urged for the management of crops and agricultural facilities.

The forecast highest temperature on the 17th is 33 degrees in Naka Ward, Yokohama, and 34 degrees in Odawara City. Both locations, along with Ebina City, are expected to experience severe heat surpassing the midsummer day (maximum temperature over 30 degrees) recorded on the 16th.
