According to reported information, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf was re-elected as the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly for the seventh consecutive year.
Today (Monday), the elections for the presidium of the parliament were held in the third year of the twelfth legislative term.
Thus, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf won the speakership of the assembly with the votes of the representatives.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf had served as the Speaker of the Assembly for four years in the eleventh legislative term, and therefore, he managed to continue as the Speaker for the seventh consecutive year.
It is worth noting that according to the internal regulations of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, members of the presidium are elected for a one-year term by direct vote of the representatives.
The composition of the presidium consists of a Speaker, two Deputy Speakers, six Secretaries, and three Observers, and the permanent presidium will be responsible for managing the affairs of the parliament for one year.
