Amusement area for children: “Shiita’s Dream Island” and the “Matsuken Bubble Shooting” attraction where you make Matsuken drink water
Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise (located on Hakkeijima, Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama) is currently holding a collaboration event with actor Ken Matsudaira, affectionately known as Matsuken, called “Matsuken Mamire Yuenchi” (Matsuken-Filled Amusement Park).
The park is a complex theme park featuring an aquarium, amusement park, shopping mall, hotel, and marina. The entire park is themed around the world of Matsudaira’s song “Matsuken Samba II,” offering an “over-immersion” entertainment experience designed to make visitors feel “Matsuken everywhere.”
During the event period, a “Matsuken Train” featuring Matsudaira’s face will tour the park. Additionally, many participatory attractions are offered, including shooting-style rides, photo spots, and free distribution of masks.
The aquarium area also features collaborative activities. Dolphin performances and a show where approximately 50,000 sardines swim in a synchronized school are presented in a version set to “Matsuken Samba II,” blending animal exhibits with entertainment.
From 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on April 27, Matsudaira will visit the park for a “Rain-Praying Project” to pray for clear weather. The “Matsuken SUN-ba (Samba)” is positioned as a “dance that brings sunshine,” and he will perform the song from an aerial work platform. Matsudaira and the park have reportedly signed a unique contract that includes a “weather incentive reward,” where compensation varies based on the number of sunny days during the Golden Week period.
“At ‘Matsuken Mamire Yuenchi,’ you can enjoy an immersive ‘Matsuken Mamire’ experience that can only be found here, in all aspects of sight, sound, and experience,” said a park representative. “Please come visit during Golden Week.”
Entry to the island is free, but tickets are required for the aquarium and attractions. A one-day pass, which allows unlimited access to the aquarium and rides for a full day, costs 5,700 yen for adults and high school students. The event runs until May 7.
