Around 1:15 AM on April 23, a robbery occurred on a sidewalk in Higashi Ward, Sapporo, where five to six men in their teens to twenties assaulted a 31-year-old man they did not know, punching and kicking him, and threatening him with “Would you rather be killed or pay up?” before stealing 1,000 yen in cash. The men then fled on foot northward.
The man was not injured.
According to police, one of the men had blond hair and was wearing a white jacket.
Police are searching for the men who fled in connection with the robbery.
