The outdoor exhibition pool at Otaru Aquarium, where seals and Steller sea lions are kept, is connected to the natural sea, so colorful seaweed grows there. We enjoy watching every day how the scenery changes with the seasons, just like land plants and flowers.

Otaru Aquarium

Otaru Aquarium, located in Hokkaido, Japan, first opened in 1959 and is one of the oldest aquariums in the country. It is known for its diverse marine life exhibits, including penguins, seals, and sea lions, as well as its popular dolphin and sea lion shows. The aquarium also features a historic indoor pool and focuses on the marine ecosystems of the surrounding Sea of Japan and Hokkaido region.
