Jozankei is a scenic hot spring resort located in a valley just outside Sapporo, Japan. It was developed in the mid-19th century and named after the Buddhist priest Mizuno Jozan, who discovered its therapeutic waters. Today, it is a popular destination for its beautiful autumn foliage and relaxing onsen (hot springs).

Sapporo is the capital of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost prefecture, which was developed in the late 19th century during the Meiji period as a modern planned city. It is now internationally famous for its annual Snow Festival, its beer (the first brewery in Japan was established here), and for having hosted the 1972 Winter Olympics.
