Sapporo Mayor Katsuhiro Akimoto announced at a press conference on the 28th that due to this summer’s record-breaking heat, the city plans to accelerate the installation of air conditioning in 312 municipal kindergartens, elementary, junior high, and high schools by the end of the 2027 fiscal year.
